1Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you (the artist or studio using Nexus — "you") and Nexus ("we", "us", "our"). Nexus is a booking and admin tool for tattoo artists, operated from the United Kingdom.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use Nexus.
If you use Nexus on behalf of a studio or business, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms for that business.
2What Nexus is — and isn't
Nexus gives you tools to manage your own tattoo business: a calendar, client records, booking links, intake forms, a flash gallery, a waitlist, and the ability to request deposits from your clients.
Nexus is a tool you use — not a party to your work. Every booking, consultation, session, and tattoo is an arrangement directly between you and your client. We don't provide tattoo services, we don't vet your clients, and we aren't involved in the artistic, health, safety, or contractual side of your sessions. Those are entirely your responsibility.
3Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account.
- You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Nexus.
- Tell us promptly at support@nexus-app.uk if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
4Plans and payment
Nexus has a free tier and a paid Pro plan.
- Free: the calendar and core booking management are free to use.
- Pro: unlocks deposits, booking links, intake forms, the flash gallery, the waitlist, and quick replies. Pro costs £13.99 per month or £120 per year.
Pro is billed in advance through our payment provider, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for, and you'll keep Pro features until then.
Prices may change in future. If we change the price of a plan you're on, we'll give you reasonable notice before it takes effect, and you're free to cancel if you don't want to continue.
Except where required by law, subscription fees already paid are non-refundable.
5Deposits and client payments
Nexus lets you collect deposits from your clients. These payments are handled through Stripe Connect, and you connect your own Stripe account to do this.
You are the merchant of record for every deposit. That means the deposit is a payment from your client to you — not to Nexus. Nexus never holds your clients' money; it flows through Stripe to your connected account, subject to Stripe's own terms and payout schedule.
Because the payment is between you and your client, you are responsible for:
- Setting your own deposit amounts, refund policy, and booking terms with your clients.
- Handling refund requests, disputes, and chargebacks for deposits you've taken.
- Any tax you owe on the money you receive.
- Meeting Stripe's requirements, including identity verification, before you can receive payouts.
Nexus isn't responsible for refunds, disputes, or chargebacks between you and your clients, and we don't decide whether a deposit should be returned — that's between you and your client under whatever terms you've set with them.
6Your content and your clients' data
You keep ownership of everything you put into Nexus — your flash designs, client records, booking details, and settings. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content only so we can run the service for you (for example, displaying your flash gallery on your public page, or sending a booking confirmation to a client on your behalf).
When you add a client's details, or send emails to clients through Nexus, you're responsible for having a proper basis to do so and for handling their personal data lawfully. In data-protection terms, you are the controller of your clients' data and we act as your processor. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data in more detail.
You must not upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or that you don't have permission to use.
7Acceptable use
When using Nexus, you agree not to:
- Break the law, or use Nexus to help anyone else break it.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or parts of the system that aren't yours.
- Interfere with, overload, or try to disrupt the service or its security.
- Copy, resell, or attempt to reverse-engineer the app, except where the law specifically allows it.
- Use Nexus to send spam or to contact people who haven't agreed to hear from you.
8Availability of the service
We work hard to keep Nexus running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or completely free of bugs. We may carry out maintenance, update features, or occasionally need to take the service down. We'll try to keep any disruption to a minimum.
Nexus is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't give guarantees that the service will meet every need or be uninterrupted or error-free.
9Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law — for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: we aren't liable for your lost profits, lost bookings, lost data, or any indirect or consequential losses; and our total liability to you for any claim relating to Nexus is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose.
We're not responsible for things outside the tool itself — including your tattoo work, your relationship and arrangements with your clients, deposits and refunds between you and your clients, or the acts of third parties such as Stripe or your bank.
10Ending your use of Nexus
You can stop using Nexus and close your account at any time. If you're on Pro, cancelling stops future billing as described in section 4.
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we're required to by law. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll give you notice first.
If your account is closed, you're responsible for exporting or saving anything you want to keep beforehand. After closure we'll handle any remaining data in line with our Privacy Policy.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, as Nexus grows or the law changes. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Nexus after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer in another part of the UK, you may also have the benefit of the mandatory protections of the law where you live.
